Job summary

Ohio State University’s James | Materials Management department seeks an Inventory Coordinator to oversee clinical supply inventory and act as the primary liaison between Distribution & Logistics and clinical staff.

The role supports Lean Kanban practices, maintains critical records, and ensures accurate reporting of back orders, expiration dates, and lot numbers. Weekend-day shifts are part of the schedule, with a focus on dependable supply availability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 1 year of relevant experience.
• Ability to maintain records, verify invoices, and manage back-orders.
• Experience with Kanban inventory or lean supply concepts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Stocks and manages supply inventory levels within assigned clinical departments and serves as liaison between the Distribution & Logistics team and clinical staff to support ongoing operational needs.
• Maintains essential records and documentation, including requisition dates, delivery verification, invoice price confirmation, back-order status, and implant pricing.
• Ensures accurate tracking and reporting of supply chain data, including back orders, manufacturer numbers, expiration dates, product recalls, and lot numbers, to support compliance and inventory integrity.
• Supports the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the two-bin Kanban inventory system and maintains all required documentation for accurate requisitioning and inventory replenishment.
