Job summary

Sheridan Community Hospital is seeking a Nurse Informatics Specialist to lead EHR implementation and ongoing optimization. You will partner with clinicians and leaders to redesign workflows, ensure high-quality documentation, and support staff through technology changes.

The role emphasizes patient safety, regulatory reporting, and adoption of innovative tools such as telehealth and AI-enabled clinical decision support in a rural Critical Access setting.

Qualifications

• Current Michigan RN license or ability to obtain one before starting.
• BSN or ADN with commitment to completing a BSN within three years of hire.
• Minimum of three years of direct patient care experience in acute care, emergency, ICU, or ambulatory settings.
• Hands-on EHR experience, including involvement in workflow redesign, implementation, or optimization.
• Strong clinical judgment, analytical abilities, communication skills, and a passion for process improvement.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across clinical, operational, and technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead EHR implementation and optimization as clinical expert during OCHIN/Epic rollout and ongoing improvements.
• Collaborate with nurses, providers, and leaders to streamline documentation and workflows.
• Develop training resources and support Super Users, guiding staff through technology changes.
• Advance patient safety and quality through medication safety, documentation, regulatory reporting.
• Evaluate and support emerging healthcare technologies including telehealth and AI tools.
• Create practical technology solutions to support Rural Critical Access Hospital clinics.
