Job summary

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, TX, is seeking a Clinical Informatics Coordinator to support clinical applications in the ambulatory setting. The role requires collaborating with clinicians to optimize EMR workflows and delivering end-user trainings.

Travel up to 25% may be required. The position focuses on improving documentation quality, patient safety, and operational efficiency through data analytics and system enhancements.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree and 4 years of experience in medical/electronic medical records, or a combination to equal eight years.
  • Experience with EMR systems, specifically Epic systems.
  • Knowledge of revenue cycle software and clinical/professional software.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to understand needs and improve EMR efficiencies.
  • Develop plans/trainings for end users utilizing data analytics.
  • Partner with the EMR team to create best practice workflows for staff.
  • Act as a liaison between clinical staff, leadership, and the EMR team.
  • Review patient data to improve medical workflows and safety.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software problems reported by clinical team members.
  • Analyze clinical and operational data to improve documentation quality and patient outcomes.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to understand theirneeds and opportunities to improve efficiencies within the EMR
  • Develop plans/trainings for end users utilizing dataanalytics
  • Partner with the EMR team to create best practice workflows forstaff
  • Act as a liaison between clinical staff, leadership, and theEMR team
