Job summary

Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital seeks a Professional Development & Training Manager to design, deliver, and oversee hospital-wide learning programs. You will partner with leaders to align training with clinical and non-clinical needs and regulatory requirements.

This role focuses on onboarding, competency development, and continuous improvement, with responsibility for records, evaluations, and collaboration with external providers to advance staff excellence and patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Health Administration or related field required.
• Master’s in related field preferred.
• Massachusetts RN license required.
• 5–7 years designing and implementing healthcare training programs.
• 2–3 years in critical care and inpatient experience.
• 2–3 years management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and regularly update training programs for clinical and non-clinical staff.
• Assess workforce learning needs and identify skill gaps through evaluations and feedback.
• Create and implement comprehensive training curricula aligned with organizational goals.
• Develop learning pathways to enhance knowledge, performance, and career development.
• Plan and facilitate engaging training sessions, workshops, seminars, and educational activities.
• Deliver instruction on patient care, safety, compliance, leadership, technology adoption, and initiatives.
• Use varied instructional methods to maximize learner engagement.
• Lead onboarding and orientation programs for new employees.
• Collaborate with department leaders for role-specific training integration.
• Promote a positive onboarding experience for long-term success.
• Maintain records of training, certifications, and progress.
• Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness and identify improvements.
• Track development outcomes and performance gains from learning programs.
• Collaborate with external providers and institutions to expand opportunities.
• Research and implement innovative learning technologies and e-learning tools.
• Stay current on industry trends and regulatory changes.
