Job summary

Tufts Medicine Care at Home in Lowell, MA seeks an experienced education specialist to develop and deliver staff education and competency programs for licensed and non-licensed staff and volunteers. You will provide orientation, continuing education, and in-service programs to enhance clinical capabilities.

The role involves collaborating with clinical and academic staff, creating videos and online content, and advancing competency assessments to ensure regulatory compliance and high-quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or other clinical discipline.
• RN License or Physical Therapy License or Occupational Therapy License.
• Five (5) years of experience as a Registered Nurse, Physical Therapist, or Occupational Therapist.
• One (1) year of experience in clinical education.
• Two (2) years of experience in clinical education.
• Experience in Home Health or Hospice.
• Experience working in EPIC.

Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively with all department managers, administration, and HR to develop, implement and document orientation of all agency staff.
• Assess individual employee learner needs to allow for flexibility and judgment in the orientation content.
• Assist orientees in identification of specific goals for orientation and develop individualized plans.
• Ensure documentation of orientation process including assessment of skills checklist, orientation checklist.
• Provide and arrange for additional orientations to meet agency-wide needs.
• Support transition of new staff through continuing instruction and counseling.
• Ensure adequate training of employees.
• Assist in the development, implementation, and documentation of annual professional competencies.
• Assist in review and evaluation of the competency program for professional staff.
• Assist in organizing, facilitating, and overseeing quarterly education, including annual competencies for assigned job groups.
• Work collaboratively with College Programs to assist students with home care clinical placement and experience.
• Work collaboratively with managers to coordinate student placements in the agency and provide and arrange agency orientation.
• Stay current with staff development technology, attending seminars or training that is applicable to agency needs.
• Train staff in EMR products and computer/program use.
• Create educational videos and online education content and competencies.
• Assist in the assessment of staff education needs audit, results from clinical record reviews, patient satisfaction surveys, incident reports and external auditors.
• Provide and/or arranges for In-service Programs to meet staff needs as identified in surveys, needs assessments, strategic plans etc.
• Assist in oversee educational process for clinical regulatory areas (CMS, DPH)
• Assesses training needs based on the needs of staff, referral sources and changes in home care
• Develops programs in response to identified staff and agency-wide needs.
