Job summary

Ottumwa Regional Health Center, part of Lifepoint Health, seeks an Education Coordinator to lead organization-wide education programs and orientation for staff and volunteers. You will design and teach curricula, maintain practice standards, and support onboarding across the facility.

The role requires an Iowa RN license, an Associate's degree in Nursing, and BLS certification, with 5+ years nursing experience and prior nurse-educator exposure preferred, at a full-time schedule with exempt

Qualifications

• Active Iowa RN license (single-state or compact) required.
• Associate's degree from an accredited Nursing program required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Prior nurse educator experience preferred.
• Minimum five (5) years nursing experience with clinical focus preferred.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, plans, and teaches educational programs for employed, contracted, and affiliated staff and volunteers.
• Maintains competency and current standards of practice across acute care hospital settings.
• Provides supervision for orientation programs and supports new employee education processes.

How You'll Contribute

The Education Coordinator is the organization-wide educator. By maintaining competency and knowledge of current standards of practice, trends, and developments in requirements for acute care hospital and all applicable facility-wide healthcare settings, the Education Coordinator designs, develops, plans, and teaches educational programs for the employed, contracted, affiliated, volunteer individuals and others as identified. The educator has the authority and responsibility of supervision all orientation programs and has indirect supervisory responsibility for new employees when involved in educational programs or processes.

What We're Looking For

• Active Iowa RN license (single-state or compact) required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.
• Associate's degree from an accredited professional Registered Nursing Program
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Prior experience as a nurse educator preferred.
• Minimum Five (5) years nursing experience with clinical focus preferred.
