Job summary

Lifepoint Health is seeking an Emergency Services RN for Ottumwa Regional Health Center. This full-time role covers night shifts (3-12 hour shifts) in an 18-bed ED with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio, delivering care to patients with respiratory and cardiac needs.

The position requires Iowa RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC within specified timelines, plus recent ER experience. A commitment bonus is offered for 2 years.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program with an active Iowa RN license or from a Compact State.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS within six months of hire.
• PALS within six months of hire.
• TNCC within six months of hire.
• Recent RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for acutely ill patients in an 18-bed ED with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio.
• Utilize nursing process, clinical judgment, and prioritization to care for patients across the lifespan.
• Perform assigned procedures within Iowa Board of Nursing scope of practice.

Position Summary:

Join our team in an 18-bed Emergency Room unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4. We are staffed with RNs, ED techs and unit secretaries, providing specialized care for patients primarily diagnosed with respiratory failure and cardiac conditions. The Emergency Department Registered Nurse is responsible for providing nursing care for acutely ill patients. The Emergency Department Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process, their skills in clinical judgment, critical thinking, prioritization, and time management to care for patients throughout the life span and with a variety of healthcare needs.The registered nursed also performs assigned procedures that are within the scope of practice as set forth by the Iowa State Board of Nursing.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program required with a current unencumbered Registered Nurse License in Iowa or from a Compact State.
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within six (6) months of hire.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within six (6) months of hire
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within six (6) months of hire
• Recent RN experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• One (1) year of Medical/Surgical or Critical Care nursing experience
• One (1) year of ER experience
• One (1) year of Psychiatry experience
