Job summary

Oak Street Health is seeking a Medical Scribe to support primary care providers with real-time documentation during patient visits. You will observe, document, and assist with next steps to ensure accurate, timely notes and coding.

This role offers hands-on training in clinical workflows and value-based care approaches. The ideal candidate commits to 1–2 years in the role, has strong listening and communication skills, and can work in-person at clinics.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and common medications (required)
• Prior clinical experience, including shadowing and/or volunteering (strongly preferred)
• Prior scribe or transcription experience (preferred but not required)

Responsibilities

• Document patient encounters in a structured note with history, assessment, plan and exam
• Assign CPT and ICD-10 codes
• Prepare After Visit Summaries
• Consult with provider to ensure accurate documentation
• Support clinical documentation improvement and daily huddles
• Provide administrative support for the care team
