Job summary

Oak Street Health is seeking a Medical Scribe for a full-time role in our primary care setting. You will support physicians with documentation, join clinical encounters, and help streamline patient care through accurate coding and after-visit summaries.

The ideal candidate commits 1–2 years to the role, with opportunities to gain experience in value-based care, chronic condition management, and documentation workflows. In-person clinic work and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and common medications.
• Prior clinical experience, including shadowing and/or volunteering.
• Prior scribe or transcription experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Documenting patient encounters in a structured note (HPI, assessment, plan, exam).
• Assigning CPT and ICD-10 codes.
• Preparing After Visit Summaries.
• Supporting Daily Huddles and Clinical Documentation Reviews.
• Administrative support for the care team (orders, referrals, tasks).
• Other duties as assigned that are appropriate for role.
