Job summary

Oak Street Health in Denver is seeking a Medical Scribe to support primary care providers by documenting encounters, coding CPT/ICD-10, and drafting after-visit summaries in real time.

As a Clinical Informatics Specialist, you will learn value-based care workflows, maintain HIPAA compliance, and collaborate with care teams to close care gaps. A 1–2 year commitment and full-time in-clinic hours are expected.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and common medications is required.
• Prior clinical experience, including shadowing and/or volunteering, is strongly preferred.
• Prior scribe or transcription experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Documenting Patient Encounters ~ 80%: observing visits, documenting encounters in structured notes, assigning CPT/ICD-10 codes, preparing After Visit Summaries, consulting with providers.
• Clinical Documentation Improvement ~ 10%: reviewing records, leveraging population health tools, supporting Daily Huddles and Documentation Reviews, consulting with providers.
• Administrative support ~ 10%: placing orders and referrals, addressing tasks, supporting care team with documentation tasks.
• Other duties as assigned.
