Job summary

CVS Health at Oak Street Health seeks a Medical Scribe to support primary care providers by documenting patient encounters in real time and assisting with clinical documentation. You will help with CPT/ICD-10 coding, after-visit summaries, and CDS tasks within a team-based care setting.

Ideal candidates bring strong listening/communication skills, medical terminology knowledge, US work authorization, and a commitment to at least 1 year in a clinic environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and common medications, either from a pre-med degree or prior clinical experience [required]
• Prior clinical experience, including shadowing and/or volunteering [strongly preferred]
• Prior scribe or transcription experience [preferred but not required]

Responsibilities

• Document patient encounters in a structured note, including history of present illness, assessment, plan, and physical exam
• Assign CPT and ICD-10 codes
• Prepare After Visit Summaries
• Support clinical documentation improvement and participate in Daily Huddles and Clinical Documentation Reviews
• Provide administrative support for the care team, including placing orders and referrals
