Role Overview

Barnes-Jewish Hospital is seeking a PRN (as needed) Clinical Dietitian to work alongside medical professionals, providing patient care that aligns with BJC Values.

The Department of Food and Nutrition offers services across patient, retail, and catering areas, including patient meals, clinical nutrition, restaurants, cafeterias, and coffee bars. The department aims to serve patients, visitors, and staff with excellent customer service, providing nutritional support to aid recovery. Opportunities exist for various skill levels, from entry to management.

Preferred Qualifications & Role Purpose

Provide advanced medical nutrition therapy, including assessment, screening, counseling, education, diet formulation, and nutrition support for inpatients and outpatients, tailored to age and diagnosis. Deliver basic MNT across all populations and advanced MNT for specialized groups like Ketogenic, CF, Renal, SICU, PICU, NICU. Maintain high visibility in patient care areas.

Responsibilities
  • Assess, recommend, and plan medical nutrition therapy for patients.
  • Implement nutrition care collaboratively with the medical team.
  • Promote dietetics through education, training, and research participation.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition
  • 2-5 years of experience
  • Licensed and Registered Dietitian
