Barnes Jewish Hospital is looking for a PRN (as needed) Clinical Dietitian. You will work alongside other medical professionals to provide patient care while exhibiting the BJC Values.

Overview

Barnes–Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked among the nation's top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. The hospital's staff includes full-time academic faculty and community physicians of Washington University School of Medicine, supported by residents, interns, fellows, and other medical professionals. Recognized for excellence in nursing care, Barnes–Jewish Hospital was the first adult hospital in Missouri to be certified as a Magnet Hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

The Department of Food and Nutrition at Barnes–Jewish Hospital manages Patient, Retail, and Catering Service areas across both the North and South Campus. This includes patient meal and Clinical Nutrition Services, Queeny Tower Restaurant, three Cafeterias, and three Coffee Bars. The department aims to serve patients, visitors, and employees with excellent customer service, providing nutritional support to improve clinical outcomes and aid healing. Opportunities are available for all skill levels, from entry-level to licensed and/or certified management positions.

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose: Provide advanced medical nutrition therapy (assessment, screening, counseling, education, diet formulation, nutrition intervention, and support) for inpatients and outpatients, tailored to age-related needs and diagnoses. Deliver basic MNT to all patient populations and advanced MNT to specialized groups (Ketogenic, CF, Renal, SICU, PICU, NICU). Maintain high involvement and visibility in patient care areas.

  • Implement medical nutrition care collaboratively with the medical team.
  • Promote dietetics through education, training, and research participation.
