Neuromodulation
Our Neuromodulation business includes implantable devices compatible with mobile technology to help people who suffer from chronic pain and movement disorders. These non-opioid therapies allow us to provide interventional pain therapy to patients throughout the pain continuum.
The Opportunity
Our team is actively recruiting for a Clinical Specialist II, CPT in Kansas City. As a member of the clinical support team, you will be responsible for providing technical clinical expertise and support of the sales process to colleagues, current customers and/or potential customers. You will work under general direction with clinical and sales teammates to identify and capitalize on sales opportunities by creating competency, comfort, and expertise with all Abbott Chronic Pain Therapies among physicians, support staff and customers within the assigned geography. This role involves a high degree of independence, requiring you to exercise judgment in planning, organizing, and performing work. You will seek to continually improve territory efficiency.
What You’ll Work On
- Provide technical, clinical, and programming assistance, primarily in support of 1-2 Territory Manager(s).
- Assist Territory Managers in after-hours call support and activities.
- Build trust and relationships with customers and integrate into all accounts.
- Proficient in complex programming and case support.
- Work seamlessly with Territory Manager(s) to increase selling time.
- Foster high trust relationships with customers and regional team members.
- Begin to conduct PCP work and educational services, as directed.
- Engage clients and potential clients in product discussions, addressing questions and concerns.
- Provide medical professionals with sales support, information, and training on product use, staff education, in-services, and troubleshooting.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of assigned accounts and monitor competitor activity.
- Conduct evaluations and develop sales strategies for capital equipment opportunities.
- Monitor new and existing products, competitor sales, prices, and products.
- Provide feedback to providers on device use directions.
- Attend trade shows and conferences to stay updated on new products and technologies.
- Identify customer training needs to increase product usage and understanding.
- Comply with FDA regulations, company policies, and operational procedures.
- Support sales, provide clinical in-services, training, and guidance to customers.
- Maintain positive communication and collaboration with all stakeholders.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Travel up to 25% within and outside the region.
Required Qualifications
- Associates Degree or technical certification; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- 1-2 years’ experience, preferably collaborating with patients in a clinical setting.
- Ability to understand and educate clinical data in the Chronic Pain Therapies space.
- Strong clinical skills.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging at multiple levels and large groups.
- Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external customers.
- Flexible schedule to accommodate unpredictable operating room schedules.
- Experience managing multiple tasks and working under tight deadlines.
- Strong sense of urgency.
- Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse environment.
- Team player with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective at engaging customers in sales conversations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Patient interaction experience in healthcare, such as Physical Therapy, medical product sales, RN, LPN.
- Experience in a cross-division business environment.
- 1-3 years’ experience with Abbott or in similar spinal cord stimulation or implantable device settings.

The base pay for this position ranges from $66,700 to $133,300. In specific locations, pay may vary.
