Overview

Clinical Dietitian II

As a Clinical Dietitian II, you will assess the nutritional status of patients using recognized assessment tools and counsel patients, families, and/or caregivers on appropriate nutrition plans to improve disease or condition management. The Clinical Dietitian II supports, models, and trains Clinical Dietitian I's in the core behaviors and responsibilities of the department and organization.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient screening in accordance with specialized clinical guidelines for those at specific nutritional risk.
• Implement targeted and specific nutrition interventions based on the patient's medical condition. Provide customized nutrition education to patients and/or families and caregivers.
• Develop intervention plans that include appropriate feeding routes, modes, and nutrition prescriptions tailored to the patient's needs, in accordance with physicians' orders.
• Collaborate with the Food and Nutrition Services team to enhance the patient experience.
• Provide expert-level care and nutrition therapy for high-acuity patients, including Neonatal Intensive Care, Pediatric units, enteral/parenteral nutrition support, oncology, renal, diabetes, and gerontology, with advanced competency and order-writing privileges.

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree with completion of an accredited dietetics program (ACEND - Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition Dietetics).
• Must be a Registered Dietitian in the state of Texas.
