Overview

Clinical Dietitian

St. Joseph Health – Bryan/College Station Navasota Caldwell Madisonville TX. Since 1936 St. Joseph Health has been caring for the communities in and surrounding the Brazos Valley. We have a Level III Trauma Center, the first Joint Commission certified Primary Stroke Center, and the first accredited Chest Pain Center in the Brazos Valley. As an integrated healthcare system, St. Joseph Health includes a comprehensive network of over 100 employed providers including primary care physicians, specialists, and advanced practice clinicians. The network includes more than 30 ambulatory clinics featuring primary care, Express Clinics, and imaging and diagnostic services.

Every day, you will work with the general patient population and patients in more complex levels of care under the supervision of a Clinical Dietitian II or Clinical Dietitian Lead to perform nutritional assessments using age and gender-appropriate standards and cultural, religious, and ethnic backgrounds. You will conduct routine screenings to identify patients at nutritional risk and collaborate within an interdisciplinary environment to contribute to facilitating care for those needing a higher level of care, all while demonstrating excellent customer service to patients, families, and caregivers.

Responsibilities

  • Develops an intervention plan which includes appropriate feeding route, mode, and nutrition prescription unique to patient's specific needs, in accordance with physicians' orders.
  • Monitors and evaluates patient response to interventions by meeting specific measurable goals documented in the nutrition care plan in a timely and thorough manner in the medical record.
  • Updates plan of care as necessary and follows up with the patient as needed.
  • Collaborates within an interdisciplinary environment to contribute to facilitating care and identifying patients at nutrition risk or needing a higher level of care.
  • Collaborates with the Food and Nutrition Services team to enhance patient experience.

Qualifications

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Completion of an accredited dietetics program (ACEND)

Required Licensure & Certifications:

  • Valid registration as a Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
  • Dietitian State license required in the following states: Kentucky, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Tennessee, Ohio, Kansas, Georgia, Iowa, Utah.
