Job summary

AbbVie Data Science is looking for a senior CDSO operational lead to drive study-level strategies and manage global, cross-functional teams in clinical data strategy and operations. You will coordinate resources, track progress, and optimize execution across programs and studies.

You will mentor data science staff, contribute to process improvements, and ensure adherence to GCPs, SOPs, and evolving regulations—supporting AbbVie's mission to advance clinical development globally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, MIS, CS, life sciences or equivalent. Master’s preferred.
• PMP Certification or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt desired
• Must have 3+ years pharma/clinical research/data management/health care experience or 5+ years of project management experience
• Strong understanding of clinical trial process and clinical technology; experience managing trials preferred
• Demonstrated effective leadership and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Aligns CDSO study teams with program- and study-level strategies; leads the CDSO Study Team.
• Act as single point of contact and accountable operational lead from CDSO for assigned studies; coordinate CDSO study teams.
• Engage and connect global functional and cross-functional teams.
• Utilize operational analytics and project management tools to optimize program/study execution; manage resources and track progress.
• Anticipate issues that could affect timelines or quality and develop options and solutions.
• Ensure adherence to GCPs, SOPs and regulatory requirements; stay updated on local regulations.
• Coach and mentor Data Science Associates; may supervise contract resources.
• Participate in CDSO and cross-functional innovation and process improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to study execution lessons learned across functions.
