Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a senior Data Science lead within Clinical Data Strategy and Operations (CDSO) to align study teams with program strategies and drive operational excellence. You will coordinate global CDSO study teams, manage vendor interactions, and mentor junior associates while maintaining regulatory excellence.

The role requires strong leadership, stakeholder management, and deep knowledge of clinical trial processes, often spanning multiple therapeutic areas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, MIS, CS, life sciences or equivalent; Master’s preferred; PMP or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt desired.
• 3+ years pharma/clinical research/data management/health care experience or 5+ years project management experience (and/or applicable work experience).
• Strong understanding of clinical trial process and clinical technology; experience in managing a clinical trial from initiation through completion is preferred.
• Demonstrated effective leadership, ability to influence others without direct authority, communication, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Aligns CDSO study teams with program- and study-level strategies and leads the CDSO Study Team.
• Acts as single point of contact and accountable operational lead from CDSO; coordinates study teams to meet objectives and engages global cross-functional teams.
• Interacts with cross-functional team members to achieve program and study objectives.
• Uses operational analytics and project management tools to optimize execution, manage resources, track progress, and prepare study status reports.
• Ensures adherence to GCPs, ICH Guidelines, AbbVie SOPs and regulatory standards; stays updated on local regulations and policies.
• Participates in CDSO oversight of vendors and mentors Data Science Associates.
• Contributes to CDSO and cross-functional process improvements and lessons learned.
