Job summary

Pacific Northwest Pet ER & Specialty Center in Vancouver, WA is seeking a Clinical Coordinator to support clinical operations and client relations in a fast-paced, 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital. The role focuses on facilitating communication between clients, referral veterinarians, and the clinical team, while upholding high standards of patient care and teamwork.

The position offers a swing shift (1:00 PM–11:00 PM) with on-call holiday rotation, base pay $18–$24/hr plus $2/hr overnight

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or higher education.
• Must be able to obtain a Veterinary Medication Clerk's License upon hire and keep active.
• 1-2 years of veterinary medicine experience is required.
• Prior experience in customer or client services.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Excellent computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in creating and transcribing medical records for patients.
• Communicate with clients concerning estimates, discharges, patient history, and billing status.
• Collaborate with departments to avoid delays and keep clients informed of wait times.
• Assist in handling overflow calls and patient care as needed.
• Discharge patients and complete medical records.
• Ensure records are exchanged with primary care veterinarians when appropriate.
• Assist in financial records, charge auditing, and billing; help create estimates and care plans.
• Participate in patient rounds and monitor results and follow up.
• Assist Emergency veterinarians with transfer requests from referral hospitals.
• Support Client Services Coordinators and attend meetings; work rotating holidays.

Clinical Coordinator

$18-$24/hr + $2/hr Overnight Differential (6pm-6am) + $2/hr Weekend Differential (Sat-Sun)

Schedule

Swing shift, with an anticipated schedule of Sunday through Wednesday, approximately 1:00 PM-11:00 PM. Specific hours may vary based on hospital needs. As a 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital, rotating holiday shifts and participation in the on-call rotation are required.

Job Summary

Provide an outstanding client experience by facilitating communication between clients, referral veterinarians, and the clinical team. Foster positive relationships with clients and the referral community, building trust and confidence in the practice. Advocate for clients and pets by understanding their needs and ensuring timely, clear communication regarding patient care. Support all hospital departments, including Emergency & Critical Care, helping maintain smooth operations and exceptional service.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist in creating and transcribing medical records for patients.
• Communicate with clients concerning estimates, discharges, patient history, currentfinancial status of bill, wait times, and patient updates, and other client communication
  when appropriate.
• Collaborate with departments to avoid patient care delays and keep the client informedof any unexpected wait times
• Assist in answering overflow phone calls. Assist in patient care when appropriate.
• Discharge patients and assist in completing medical records.
• Ensure patient records are received from and sent to primary care veterinarians orappropriate parties.
• Assist in financial records, charge auditing, and billing. Assist in creating estimates andcontinued care plans.
• Participate in patient rounds.
• Monitor memos, call backs, lab results, and follow up for patients within the assigneddepartment.
• Assist Emergency veterinarians with transfer requests from referral hospitals.
• Assist Client Services Coordinators with daily operations as needed.
• Attend departmental and hospital meetings as scheduled.
• All employees will be scheduled and expected to work rotating holiday shifts in theemergency and critical care department.
• Performs other job duties as assigned.

Compensation

This position has an initial hiring range of $18.00 to $24.00 per hour based on skillset and experience.
