TECHEAD’s Richmond-based client seeks a Clinical Communications Project Manager to drive a multi-workstream program in healthcare. Hybrid onsite work (3 days in the office) and collaboration across IT, nursing leadership, clinical informatics, and vendors are required.

The role focuses on executive updates, change control, go-live readiness, HIPAA alignment, and InfoSec governance, with a Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field preferred.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in IT project management, incl. healthcare settings.
  • Experience leading multi-workstream, multi-vendor programs.
  • Direct experience managing clinical communications technology programs.
  • Experience with clinical device deployments in patient care.
  • Knowledge of governance: InfoSec reviews and HIPAA.
  • Familiarity with clinical communications infrastructure and nurse call systems.
  • Understanding Epic workflows and integrations.

Responsibilities

  • Own the integrated program plan across all workstreams, tracking milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, decisions and actions.
  • Facilitate executive steering committee prep, facilitation, decision capture and follow-up updates.
  • Execute the full communication plan: weekly IT leadership status and clinical readiness recaps.
  • Run formal change control end-to-end: intake, impact assessment, approvals, logging, communication.
  • Lead bi-weekly IT and Clinical Readiness meetings with nursing leadership and clinical ops partners.
  • Coordinate with clinical informatics and Epic teams for workflow validation and go-live readiness.
  • Navigate InfoSec, Compliance, and Regulatory review requirements (HIPAA alignment).
  • Lead weekly coordination meetings with Zebra Technologies, Connexall, and Epic resources.
  • Hold vendors accountable to deliverables and timelines.

Responsibilities:



  • Own the integrated program plan across all workstreamstracking milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, decisions, actions, and changes.

  • Facilitate the Executive Steering Committeeprep, facilitation, decision capture, and follow-up executive update distribution.

  • Execute the full communication plan: weekly IT leadership status, bi-weekly clinical readiness recaps, weekly project team meetings, and program health posts.

  • Run formal change control end-to-end: intake, impact assessment, stakeholder approvals, decision logging, and communication

  • Run bi-weekly IT and Clinical Readiness meetings with nursing leadership and clinical operations partners.

  • Engage unit-level nursing leaders, educators, and super users on deployment readinessstaffing, device allocations, training, and go-live logistics.

  • Coordinate with clinical informatics and Epic teams for workflow validation, training, and go-live readiness.

  • Navigate InfoSec, Compliance, and Regulatory review requirements. Patient data exposure assessments, HIPAA alignment, and lock-screen policy decisions are part of this role.

  • Lead weekly coordination meetings with Zebra Technologies, Connexall, and Epic implementation resources.

  • Hold vendors accountable to deliverables and timelines. Track commitments formally. Escalate when commitments slip


Required Experience:



  • 7 or more years of IT project management experience, with at least 4 years in a clinical or healthcare environment.

  • Demonstrated experience running multi-workstream, multi-vendor programs in healthcare or large enterprise settings.

  • Direct experience managing clinical communications technology programs. Not optional.

  • Experience managing large-scale clinical device deployments in active patient care environments.

  • Track record managing stakeholder relationships across IT, nursing leadership, clinical informatics, compliance, and executive leadership.

  • Experience navigating healthcare governance: change advisory boards, technical review boards, InfoSec reviews, and HIPAA compliance touchpoints.

  • Working knowledge of clinical communications infrastructuremiddleware and alarm routing, nurse call systems, clinical mobile devices, VoIP, and unified communications platforms.

  • Familiarity with MDM platforms (Microsoft Intune preferred) and enterprise wireless infrastructure requirements for clinical devices.

  • Understanding of Epic clinical workflows, specifically how alert and alarm notifications behave within Epic and how they interact with clinical device endpoints.

  • Ability to read and manage technical project plans spanning infrastructure, integration, and clinical application workstreams simultaneously.


Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Healthcare Informatics, Business, or a related field.
