Mount Sinai Morningside is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technologist to perform a range of laboratory tasks, including chemistries and hematology procedures. You will maintain instrument performance, document QC activities, and ensure accurate LIS entries. You will communicate critical results to nursing and physicians and support ongoing quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Medical Technology or equivalent education to meet NYS DOH technologist standards.
• ASCP preferred or NCA certification.
• Meets regulatory, licensure and annual health assessment requirements.
• Identifies learning strengths and needs; participates in continuing education.

Responsabilités

• Demonstrates the ability to perform clinical/technical/service/administrative tasks.
• Performs technical procedures in chemistry/hematology including coagulation and urinalysis as outlined in policy.
• Maintains instrument/equipment and documents remedial actions.
• Performs quality control and calibration procedures; records in LIS and charts.
• Signs QC logs and ensures required procedures are completed.
• Maintains records per regulatory requirements and communicates critical results.
• Assists Supervisor/Pathologist on important results and abnormal findings.
• Prioritizes work to meet turnaround times and notifies supervisor if delays.
• Participates in training and competency programs; supports inventory control.
