Job summary

SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Clinical Lab Technologist / TH Clinical Laboratory Technologist 3 in Chemistry & Immunology. The successful candidate will perform laboratory procedures, maintain instruments, and support quality control within the Chemistry and Hematology Laboratories.

NY licensure is required; ASCP is preferred. Familiarity with Blood Gases and Architect/ Olympus instruments is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent in Medical Technology, Physical, or Biological Science.
• New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist Licensure.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical laboratory procedures and examinations in Chemistry and Hematology Laboratories.
• Have working knowledge of routine instrumentation and methodology used in Clinical Hematology and Chemistry.
• Familiarization with Blood Gases, Olympus, and Architect instruments preferred.
• Maintain quality control, maintenance, and troubleshooting for Chemistry and Hematology methods and instruments.
• Demonstrate flexibility and collaboration to perform other related duties as needed.

• Perform clinical laboratory procedures and examinations, and any other tests or procedures conducted by the Chemistry and Hematology Laboratories.
• Have working knowledge of routine instrumentation and methodology used in Clinical Hematology and Chemistry:
• Specific familiarization with Blood Gases, Olympus, and Architect instruments preferred
• Have good knowledge of quality control, maintenance, and troubleshooting on Chemistry and Hematology methodologies and instruments.
• Demonstrate flexibility and collaboration to perform other job related duties and responsibilities as needed and/or required.
