Clinical Laboratory Technologist - part-time evening

Description

Assist in procedures, quality control, and enter results into LIS. Follow lab policy and procedures. Read manual differentials, with knowledge of automated equipment, chemistry, hematology, and instrumentation. Perform quality control, maintenance procedures, manual differentials, cell counts, coagulation procedures, and urinalysis.

Responsibilities
  • Perform tests in Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, and Coagulation based on experience.
  • Type and Screen, Crossmatching using Gel and tube technology.
  • Assist in procedures, quality control, and enter results into LIS, following lab policies.
  • Perform maintenance and troubleshooting procedures as required.
  • Proficient in manual differentials and body fluid cell counts.
  • Conduct lab tests such as ABO/Rh typing, Antibody screening, Cross matches, auto/directed units, DAT testing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Manager.
Qualifications
  • NYS Licensed Medical Technologist, BS degree in Science; ASCP preferred. Experience preferred.
  • Proficient in manual differentials and body fluid cell counts.
  • Computer literate with excellent communication skills.
