Job summary

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Medical Scribe training is required if the department uses a Scribe role.

Responsibilities

• Serves as liaison among physicians, patients, families and insurance providers to ensure quality patient care.
• Coordinates daily activities of physician team staff for efficient operations.
• Assists with patient exams, takes vital signs, and supports procedures as needed.
• Handles clerical tasks such as medical records, lab results and chart management (EMR or paper).
• Performs phlebotomy duties and phlebotomy-related responsibilities as required.
• Maintains sterilization and infection control practices and inventory of supplies.
• Schedules appointments and surgeries, pre-admissions and related forms as needed.
• Provides training and mentoring to Level I MA staff.
