Job summary

Shorewood Behavioral Health in Madison, WI seeks an Admission Counselor to facilitate admissions, clinical intake assessments, and utilization review to ensure appropriate care levels for patients and efficient use of benefits.

Evening shift, five 8s, 3pm–11:30pm, with every other weekend. Competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, 401(k) match, paid time off, and professional development opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a social services field required (if state allows).
• Master's degree in a social services field (psychology, counseling, social work, sociology, health administration, nursing) or RN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to inquiries about the facility within policy timeframes.
• Develop therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
• Perform benefit eligibility to ensure patient benefits are active at admission and communicate to the patient and business office.
• Coordinate admission and transfer from referral sources and between levels of care within the facility.
• Schedule and complete pre-admission assessments and communicate disposition recommendations.
