East Hawaii Region of Hawai`i Health Systems Corporation (HHSC) seeks a Clinic Receptionist for Hilo Benioff Medical Center to greet patients, register them, verify insurance, and coordinate with clinical staff to keep the clinic organized. You will schedule appointments, process payments, maintain records and handle calls while delivering friendly service in a busy outpatient setting.

The role supports access to high-quality care across East Hawaiʻi.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years clerical or administrative experience.
• Six months clerical healthcare/clinic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients, verify insurance, and ensure documentation is complete.
• Schedule appointments, provide reminders, and share pre-visit instructions.
• Prepare patient charts, verify authorizations, and coordinate referrals and transfers as directed.
• Answer and manage calls, relay messages, and assist with patient inquiries.
• Collect and process payments, issue receipts, and discuss financial options with patients.
• Maintain patient records, manage clinic correspondence, and assist with general clerical tasks.
