Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking a Practice Supervisor - Clinical to actively supervise day-to-day clinic operations, ensuring smooth patient flow and timely documentation. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current Medical Assistant (MA) certification required; incumbents in direct patient care must maintain applicable certification/licensure.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at hire.
• Minimum of 1–2 years ambulatory practice experience; prior lead or supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of physician practice clinical operations including patient access, scheduling, documentation, charge capture, and work queue management.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Strong time management, organization, and prioritization skills with the ability to adapt to changing operational demands.
• Experience with EMR systems (Epic) and work queue management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides on-site supervision of staff and participates in clinic operations to support clinical and patient flow functions.
• Coaches, guides, and supports clinical practice staff as on-site resource.
• Manages and approves timecards for assigned staff.
• Assists Practice Manager with payroll processes, scheduling and orientation, and ongoing staff training.
• Assists with budget monitoring and resource utilization to support cost-effective operations.
• Monitors work queues and ensures no open charts or incomplete documentation that could delay billing.
• Collaborates with coding, billing, and leadership to improve reimbursement outcomes.
• Organizes, prioritizes, and assigns work for Medical Assistants, Technicians, Nurses, and other clinical staff.
• Monitors patient throughput and clinic schedules to ensure efficient flow and access; performs service recovery as needed.
• Supports development and adherence to departmental policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintains positive relationships with staff, physicians, and customers; reinforces iCARE values.
• Monitors and maintains office supply inventories.
• Supports performance improvement initiatives with the Practice Manager as needed.
• May travel to other clinic locations and demonstrate flexibility in operations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
