Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current Medical Assistant (MA) certification required. Incumbents functioning in a direct patient care role must maintain applicable certification/licensure in accordance with MWHC policy.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at hire.
• Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years ambulatory practice experience required; prior lead or supervisory experience preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of physician practice clinical operations, including patient access, scheduling, documentation, charge capture, and work queue management.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, providers, leadership, and Associates.
• Strong time management, organization, and prioritization skills with the ability to adapt to changing operational demands.
• Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, including workflow assessment and process improvement.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff on-site and participate in clinic operations to support patient flow.
• Coach and support clinical staff; assist with payroll, scheduling, orientation, and training.
• Approve timecards and assist with budget monitoring and cost-effective operations.
• Monitor billing readiness, charge capture, and queue management to prevent delays.
• Coordinate with coding/billing and leadership to improve reimbursement outcomes.
• Plan and assign work to Medical Assistants, Technicians, Nurses and others.
• Ensure efficient patient throughput and access; address operational concerns.
