Job summary

MercyOne Health System is seeking a Lab Assistant for our Family Practice Clinic. The role supports multiple lab departments by assisting staff with collection, processing, analysis, and reporting of tests essential for patient care.

Responsibilities include venipunctures, specimen registration in LIS, and adherence to safety and quality procedures. The schedule is Monday–Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, with full benefits and a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Laboratory experience and knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Comfortable working in a collaborative leadership environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipunctures, finger sticks, and heel sticks per patient age group.
• Register and log specimens in the LIS and ensure correct labeling.
• Assist in processing specimens and ensure safety and quality standards.
• Support laboratory operations and participate in committees/projects as assigned.
