Job summary

The University of Miami Hospital & Clinics Imaging Services UTower is seeking a Clinic Assistant to support patient flow and documentation. You will assemble and process patient charts, verify information, and ensure accurate record keeping in a busy imaging setting.

Responsibilities include transcription of orders, notifying the team of any discrepancies, and coordinating with front desk to maintain daily schedules. Evening/Night/weekend availability may be required.

Qualifications

• Effective organization and prioritization under pressure.

Maintains confidentiality of patient information.2. Assembles, completes, and processes patients’ charts.3. Keeps patient records accurately identified.4. Maintains an accurate clinical record, recording information per hospital policy.5. Transcribes doctors’ orders, checks charts for incomplete histories and operative summaries, and reports any issues to appropriate member of the healthcare team for correction.6. Orders unit supplies to maintain inventory of equipment and supplies.7. Assists with receiving, distributing, and sorting supplies brought to the unit.8. Obtains laboratory and x-ray reports and notifies doctors of results.9. Utilizes IDX RIS/PACS to track patient arrival times and advises front desk personnel of patient delays to maintain daily schedule.10. Greets patients upon arrival and verifies patient information.11. Directs patient to the dressing room and ensures patient changes into a gown and removes all metal items from their person.12. Assists in copying completed patient paperwork, delivering originals to front desk, and distributing copies to appropriate reading rooms.13.
