Job summary

The University of Miami Hospital – UTower Imaging Services seeks a CT Scan Technologist to perform computed tomography procedures under radiologist supervision, verify patient identity, obtain consent and prepare contrast injections. You will work to ensure patient comfort and safety, maintaining equipment and adhering to infection control standards.

Qualified candidates hold an ARRT credential, an associate degree in radiologic technology or related field, and at least one year of experience.

M-F) Days (depending on availability) (Occasional on-call and rotating weekends may be required)****Work Location: University of Miami Hospital - UTower Imaging Services****CORE JOB FUNCTIONS*** Verifies patients’ ID by checking their name and date of birth.* Conducts patient interviews to describe level of discomfort or pain prior to, during, and after the exam.* Obtains necessary consent from patients before conducting procedures.* Maintains and cleans all equipment in accordance with decontamination procedures.* Supervises and performs imaging procedures under the direction of a radiologist using age appropriate standards of practice.* Performs venipunctures, contrast administration, and other relevant procedures in a safe manner.* Notifies appropriate person of any change(s) in patients’ status.* Assists the radiologist throughout procedures, with all the necessary supplies.* Follows safety, security, and infection control standards.* Participates in quality improvement activities to ensure continuous improvement of services provided.* Prepares automatic injector with proper contrast, adjusting all settings and parameters according to procedure requirements and radiologist preference.* Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.* Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment***This list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities as necessary.*****CORE QUALIFICATIONS****Education:**Associate degree in relevant field**Certification and Licensing:**ARRT registration**Experience:**Minimum 1 year of relevant experience**Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:**Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
