Job summary

Sender One Lakewood is seeking a Customer Experience Specialist to welcome guests and deliver outstanding climbing experiences in Lakewood, CA. This part-time role pays $21–$22 per hour and includes duties across check-in/out, product knowledge, and member/guest support.

The position requires coaching, belay checks, and a positive, safety-conscious attitude, with at least one weekend day per week and the ability to lift 50 lbs. Training and climbing-specific responsibilities are included.

Qualifications

• First Aid/CPR certification is required.
• Experience with top rope and lead belay is preferred.
• Coaching and instructing experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to all guests to create memorable climbing experiences.
• Know gym offerings including Day Use, Multi Day Use, memberships, programs, and events.
• Lead intro climbing courses; conduct orientation tours; administer belay tests.
• Work with kids and adults in Sender City; manage risks involved with climbing.
• Assist with check-in/out and help achieve sales goals.
• Respond to guest inquiries via email, phone, or in-person promptly and professionally.
• Collaborate with other departments as needed (Programs, Facilities, Marketing, Retail).
• Lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.; assist with Pro Shop products.
• Complete department checklists and assist team progress toward shared goals.
