The Davey Tree Expert Company in Mokena, IL is seeking a climbing arborist to trim and remove trees, assess health and safety, and perform pruning and removal tasks in outdoor environments. Your office is outdoors, and you will work with a crew to safeguard client properties.

Starting pay ranges from $24 to $27 per hour, with opportunities for advancement, a comprehensive benefits package, and industry-leading safety training as part of Davey’s employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• Must love the outdoors.
• Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights.
• Must complete Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program on hire.
• Must complete Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course on hire.
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide licenses if required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as part of a crew with ground staff and crew leader.
• Perform pruning and removal safely and skillfully for clients.
• Prune, thinning, and removal of deadwood; install cables, bracing, lightning protection.
• Move hazardous trees and maintain and operate all tools and equipment.
