Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a Climbing Arborist Crew Leader in Mokena, IL. Starting pay rate is $30 per hour, with opportunities to lead a crew and advance within a respected national tree-care company.

You’ll plan, direct and perform arboricultural tasks, mentor crew members, and handle equipment such as chainsaws, chippers and aerial lifts. Safer jobsite practices and certifications are encouraged.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred licenses and certificates (pesticide licenses).
• Preferred ISA certifications (Arborist/Tree Worker/TCIA).
• CDL B or greater is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead a crew and equipment to provide arboricultural care for clients.
• Plan and execute assigned work and tasks.
• Address jobsite hazards, obstacles, plan, HOPE process.
• Prune, thin and remove deadwood in the canopy.
• Install cables, bracing and lightning protection systems.
• Remove hazardous trees.
• Mentor crew members through the Davey Career Development Program.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers and aerial lifts.
