Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a climbing arborist to join the outdoor team. Your office is outdoors, and you will perform pruning and removal work with safety and efficiency, supporting the health and safety of trees and surrounding areas.

Compensation is $22.00–$25.00 per hour with benefits, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with company match, and opportunities for advancement within a leading, employee‑owned greenspace company.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• 1 year tree climbing experience.
• Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees and perform pruning and removal services safely and skillfully.
• Operate as part of a crew with ground crew and crew leader.
• Maintain, prepare and operate tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
