Job summary

SEI in New York is seeking an experienced Project Lead to guide climate education initiatives across the state. You will lead on-the-ground work, build partnerships with educators and organizations, and help teachers bring this critical content into classrooms.

The role is remote with travel to training sites in NYC and Long Island about three times per month, plus occasional in-person work elsewhere in the state. A strong facilitator and project manager will thrive here.

Qualifications

• Experience leading substantial projects or workstreams.
• Experience working with educators or in school systems.
• Knowledge of climate education and clean energy topics.
• Experience in energy, environmental science, sustainability, education, or nonprofit administration.
• Skilled in facilitation and delivering trainings (in-person and virtual).
• Strong instructional design and training methodology knowledge.
• Ability to build partnerships and manage community relations.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to transport materials as needed.
• Willingness to travel regularly to training locations and field sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership within a large NY-based education initiative.
• Deliver in-person and virtual training to educators on climate change, renewable energy, and policy.
• Support trainings led by partners across the state.
• Manage logistics for trainings, venues, speakers, and materials.
• Grow external relationships with educational entities and partners in NY.
• Provide post-training instructional support and develop content and resources.
• Develop and administer program processes including enrollment and attendance tracking.
• Remote support for Energize Schools projects in other regions.
