Job summary

Northwestern Medicine in Dubuque, IA is hiring a Phlebotomist for a full-time, 40-hour week at client site. Monday to Friday 8am–4:30pm. You will perform phlebotomy, label/process specimens, and communicate results to the client office staff. Requires HS diploma or phlebotomy certification/experience; EMR knowledge and bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy certification or one or more years of phlebotomy experience in healthcare.
• Familiarity with EMR systems and medical terminology is preferred.
• Bilingual skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy and other lab specimen collections per age related standards.
• Provides appropriate post-phlebotomy patient care.
• Identifies need for patient medical assistance and call code as appropriate.
• Reviews/records refrigerator temperatures and QC/QA records; reports findings.
• Labels specimens and procures blood from infant to geriatric patients.
• Orders laboratory tests in computer systems and communicates results to staff.
