Northwestern Medicine is seeking a phlebotomist for a full-time position at a client site in Dubuque, IA. The role requires collecting blood samples from diverse patient populations and ensuring accurate labeling and documentation. You will follow safety standards and maintain patient comfort and dignity.

Shifts are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. The candidate should have phlebotomy certification or related experience and be able to work in a fast-paced laboratory setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy certification from a nationally recognized organization or one or more years of phlebotomy experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Performs phlebotomy and other lab specimen collections per age related standards.
• Provides appropriate post-phlebotomy patient care.
• Identifies need for patient medical assistance and calls code as appropriate.
• Reviews refrigerator temperatures and QC/QA records and reports findings.
• Label and process specimens according to established protocols and policies.
• Procure blood specimens from infant, adult, geriatric, and wheelchair bound patients.
• Ensure timely communication of test orders, results, and updates to staff.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.
