Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is hiring a Phlebotomist for full-time shifts in Chicago, with responsibilities spanning venipuncture, specimen processing, and clerical lab tasks. The role requires strong patient-service orientation and team collaboration within a multi-site setting.

Two primary locations—Lakeview and West Loop—will be involved, with Lakeview becoming the primary site over time. Full-time schedule is 40 hours weekly, with varied days and times to cover patient needs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy certification from a nationally recognized organization required or CMA certification or 1+ year experience in healthcare phlebotomy.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy and other lab specimen collections per age-related standards and policies.
• Enter accurate orders for lab tests and verify receipt of results in multiple systems.
• Provide excellent patient service and communicate clearly using AIDET model.
• Maintain specimen processing, labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting and proper packaging for transport.
• Manage clerical duties related to orders, results, and medical records.
