Northwestern Medicine is seeking a full-time phlebotomist to provide expert venipuncture and specimen handling at a Chicago-area site near Midway Airport. The role emphasizes patient-centered service, accuracy in order entry, and teamwork within a busy lab environment.

Responsibilities include specimen processing, labeling, and communication with physicians and lab staff, while adhering to safety, biohazard, and quality standards. Fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy certification or CMA certification preferred.
• Experience with phlebotomy and lab specimen handling beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy and lab specimen collections per age-related standards.
• Demonstrate AIDET and ensure patient safety.
• Enter orders and verify test results in multiple systems.
• Communicate with patients and provide post-procedure care.
• Process specimens promptly to maintain stability and integrity.
• Maintain proper documentation and logging for QA/QC.
