Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Phlebotomy certification or equivalent training is required.
• One year of phlebotomy experience in a healthcare setting or CMA certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy and lab specimen collections per age-related standards and policies.
• Demonstrates AIDET model and prioritizes patient safety to minimize errors.
• Receives and reviews physician orders; enters orders in lab systems per policies.
• Communicates with patients and provides post-phlebotomy care as needed.
• Processes specimens promptly to maintain sample integrity and proper labeling.
• Monitors refrigerator temperatures and QC/QA records, reporting concerns as needed.
• Follows up on outstanding orders and communicates results to relevant staff.
• Maintains safe work environment and proper biohazard waste handling.
• Performs clerical lab duties including data entry and inventory management.
