Job summary

VCA Animal Hospitals is seeking an experienced Client Service Representative to join our team in Ohio. The CSR will be the face of the practice, greeting clients, scheduling appointments, handling payments, and guiding pets and their owners to exam rooms.

The role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to explain services and fees, and a dedication to maintaining patient records and a clean, welcoming facility. Morning, evening, and weekend shifts are involved.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Client Service Representative or in a front-desk role is preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with a friendly, professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors, answer phones, and guide clients and their pets to exam rooms.
• Schedule and confirm appointments.
• Make outbound follow-up calls and contact prospective clients.
• Explain fees and process payments.
• Assist clients with product and service selections, including prescriptions.
• Educate clients on general animal care and preventive health topics.
• Maintain medical records, charts, reports and correspondence.
• Keep the facility clean and organized, inside and outside.
• Work morning, evening, and weekend shifts.

Why We Need You

As the face of VCA, the Client Service Representative sets the tone for the practice as we build and maintain each customer's trust and confidence in our abilities. The CSR is the pivot around which the hospital operates and is responsible for:

• Customer service functions, including: greeting visitors, answering telephones, and guiding clients and their pets to exam rooms.
• Scheduling and confirming appointments.
• Placing outbound calls for follow-ups and reaching out to prospective clients.
• Presenting and explaining fees, including processing payments.
• Recommending, selecting, and obtaining products and services, including prescriptions.
• Answering questions regarding products and services, including educating clients on general animal husbandry and non-medical pet care (i.e., heartworm prevention, housebreaking, and flea & tick control).
• Managing medical records, charts, reports and correspondence.
• Hospital maintenance (including removal of animal waste) and ensuring that facility is neat and clean at all times - both inside and outside.
• This position requires morning, evening and weekend shifts.
