Job summary

VCA Nassau Suffolk Animal Hospital in Farmingdale, NY seeks a Client Service Representative to greet clients and their pets, assist with check-in, and guide them to exam rooms. You will schedule and confirm appointments, handle payments, explain services and fees, and promote products and prescriptions.

Strong communication and organization are essential for success. This on-site role includes maintaining accurate records and keeping the front desk area neat to support compassionate care for

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service within a veterinary setting is preferred.
• Ability to explain fees and process payments clearly.
• Comfort interacting with clients and their pets in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and guide them and their pets to exam rooms.
• Schedule and confirm appointments.
• Place outbound calls for follow-ups and client outreach.
• Present and explain fees and process payments.
• Recommend products and services, including prescriptions.
• Answer questions about products and services and educate clients on basic pet care.
• Maintain medical records, charts and correspondence.
• Keep front desk and lobby area clean and organized.

Compensation: The pay range for this position is $18-$22/hr

We are seeking an experienced Client Service Representative to join our team. At VCA Animal Hospitals, we take our mission statement - your pet's health is our top priority and excellent service is our goal - very seriously. With every opportunity, we aim to exceed each pet owner's expectations.

We're looking for a personable yet highly professional "service extraordinaire" to join us in delivering our mission to our clients and their pets.

Why We Need You

• Customer service functions, including: greeting visitors, answering telephones, and guiding clients and their pets to exam rooms.
• Scheduling and confirming appointments.
• Placing outbound calls for follow-ups and reaching out to prospective clients.
• Presenting and explaining fees, including processing payments.
• Recommending, selecting, and obtaining products and services, including prescriptions.
• Answering questions regarding products and services, including educating clients on general animal husbandry and non-medical pet care (i.e., heartworm prevention, housebreaking, and flea & tick control).
• Managing medical records, charts, reports and correspondence.
• Hospital maintenance (including removal of animal waste) and ensuring that facility is neat and clean at all times-both inside and outside.
