Job summary

University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE is seeking a qualified Customer Service Specialist who will be the first and primary contact for inbound communications for Regional Pathology Services, Nebraska Public Health Laboratory, and the Department of Pathology & Microbiology.

The role focuses on delivering exceptional service and resolving client and specimen questions according to departmental policies.

Qualifications

  • High School education or equivalent required.
  • Five years related post-high school education and experience combined; at least one year in UNMC/Nebraska Medicine laboratory.
  • Clinical laboratory experience in a healthcare environment; UNMC/Nebraska Medicine experience preferred.
  • Excellent problem resolution, strong written and verbal communication, and demonstrated customer service.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and related office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first and primary contact for inbound communications.
  • Provide and maintain excellent service to customers of Regional Pathology Services, NPHL, and Pathology & Microbiology.
  • Resolve client and specimen problems and ensure proper follow-up as per policies.
  • Monitor service quality and adherence to departmental policies and procedures.

Position Summary

As the the first and primary contact for inbound communications, this position is responsible for providing and maintaining excellent service with customers of Regional Pathology Services ( RPS ), Nebraska Public Health Laboratory ( NPHL ), and Department of Pathology & Microbiology at UNMC by ensuring a focused program of customer service. Manages the resolution of client and specimen problems, ensuring problems are thoroughly investigated and that the appropriate follow-up occurs as prescribed by departmental policies. Monitors and assures that the service provided reflects the highest level of service with attention to quality results.
