Job Summary
The Client Service Coordinator (CSC) drives the flow of clients and pets through the hospital, maximizes productivity of the veterinary medical team, ensures good communication with associates and clients, and coordinates care in a friendly and efficient manner.
Responsibilities
- Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. (Quality, Responsibility, Mutuality, Efficiency, Freedom)
- Recruit new clients, promote hospital services, and route clients and pets to ensure superior client care and maximum team productivity.
- Maximize the number of pets seen by maintaining an efficient, productive hospital operation.
- Provide professional, efficient, and exceptional service at all times – welcome clients and pets, ensure their comfort, and educate them about pet health.
- Educate clients about Optimum Wellness Plans, preventative care, and hospital services.
- Assist incoming clients: complete documentation, enter pet information and history, identify pets, and ensure prompt service.
- Assist outgoing clients: provide instructions, invoices, dispense prescription items per the veterinarian’s instructions, sell retail products, and schedule future appointments.
- Manage finances: maintain balances, and use proper opening and closing procedures.
- Perform administrative functions as necessary.
- Complete other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications

- Computer skills: confidence with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and specialized software.

- Minimum education: High School Diploma or equivalent; high school preferred.
- Experience: at least one year of related customer‑service experience; medical or veterinary terminology preferred.
Special Working Conditions
- Ability to work at a computer for long periods and stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate up to 50 lb.
- Exposure to pets that may bite or scratch; occasional exposure to anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards, and medication/controlled substances.
- Work over 40 hours per week; flexible schedule including weekends and evenings.
- Requires reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Moderately high noise level and required visual acuity to operate equipment.
Pay Range
$15.00 – $18.69 hourly (based on experience, skill level, education, and location).
