Job Summary
The Client Service Coordinator ("CSC") drives the flow of clients and pets through the hospital, maximizes the productivity of the veterinary medical team, ensures good communication with associates and clients, and coordinates the care of clients and pets in a friendly and efficient manner to encourage return visits and referrals.
Essential Responsibilities and Tasks
- Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc.
- Recruit new clients by promoting hospital services and routing the flow of clients and pets.
- Maximize the number of pets seen by ensuring a productive and efficient hospital environment.
- Provide professional, efficient and exceptional service at all times, welcoming clients and pets, ensuring comfort, and educating them about their pet’s health.
- Educate clients about Optimum Wellness Plans and preventative care.
- Assist incoming clients by completing required documentation, entering pet information and history into the computer system, and using identification collars and tags.
- Assist outgoing clients by providing instructions, invoices, dispensing prescription items, selling retail products, and scheduling future appointments.
- Manage finances by maintaining accurate balances and following opening and closing procedures.
- Perform administrative functions as necessary.
- Other job duties as assigned.

Special Working Conditions
- Computer work for long periods; confidence around pets.
- Work may include more than 40 hours per week; weekends and evenings.
- Physical requirements: stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb; lift up to 50 lbs; good hand‑eye coordination.
- Exposure to pets, anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards, medication/controlled substances.
- High noise level; visual acuity requirements.
Minimum Education and Training
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- At least 18 years old for duties involving radiography and radioactive substances.
- One year of related experience; customer service preferred.
- Medical background (veterinary technician, human healthcare, pharmaceutical) with medical terminology training is preferred.
