Job summary

Southern Bank is seeking a Personal Banker to support the PB Westwood Branch in Poplar Bluff, MO. You will service existing customers, open accounts, and participate in community events to grow the customer base.

In this role you will greet customers, assist with transactions, and refer opportunities to the right team members while upholding the bank's standards for privacy, compliance and service excellence.

Qualifications

• Positive and helpful attitude toward customers.
• Good interpersonal communication skills, including speaking clearly to customers and teammates.
• Good computer skills; ability to use branch software and POS systems.
• Excellent customer service skills and professionalism in all interactions.

Responsibilities

• Develops new customer relationships and retains existing ones through cross-selling and cross-channel referrals.
• Greet customers in the lobby and direct them to appropriate team members.
• Open accounts and assist with transactions, resolving issues to ensure satisfaction.
• Builds relationships through frequent customer interactions and proactive outreach.
• Educates customers on using available access channels (ATM, online banking, mobile app).
• Participates in community events and local business outreach to drive branch traffic.
• Adheres to bank policies and procedures, including privacy and compliance requirements.
• Maintains knowledge of bank products and services across delivery channels.
• Maintains professionalism, confidentiality and trust in all customer interactions.
• Works schedule including overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays.
