Job summary

Nelnet is seeking a Client Services Specialist I to support merchants and partners across NPS, NBS, FACTS and other non-education partners during implementation and ongoing servicing.

The role requires reviewing merchant applications for accuracy, coordinating setup, and providing training and support. A Bachelor's degree is preferred, with 3+ years in customer service or new client onboarding. A hybrid work environment is offered.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in customer service or new client implementation.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Credit card banking industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review merchant applications for accuracy and collect missing information from merchants.
• Monitor merchant setup progress and follow up for timely activation of merchant IDs.
• Configure new merchant accounts with multiple backend systems for payment processing.
• Log and update Salesforce records with accurate data.
• Answer questions related to account maintenance, statements, refunds, rates, compliance and other merchant inquiries.
• Provide phone support for all NPS merchants and customers as needed.
• Suggest process improvements and opportunities to leverage AI and automation tools.
• Embrace and utilize AI-powered tools to streamline workflows and enhance the merchant experience.
