Job summary

Nelnet is seeking a Client Services Specialist I to support merchants and partners with Nelnet Payment Services. The role covers training, reconciliation, troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance in merchant processing agreements. A hybrid work option is available, blending remote work with in-office collaboration.

Ideal candidates have at least three years in customer service or onboarding, with credit card banking experience preferred. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in customer service or new client implementation.
• Credit card banking industry experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review merchant applications for accuracy and missing information.
• Monitor merchant setup progress and activate merchant IDs.
• Configure new merchant accounts across backend systems.
• Log and update Salesforce records with accurate data.
• Provide phone support to merchants and customers.
• Suggest process improvements including AI and automation.
