Addepar, Inc. is seeking an Applied AI Engineer to work with our client-facing AI initiatives. You will build agentic systems from idea through production, prototype quickly, and collaborate with engineering to ship capabilities for all customers.

You will design agent behaviors, integrate tools, and refine evaluations to ensure AI works reliably in practice, while aligning with client workflows and product direction.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Python and data exploration using SQL.
• Experience with LLM APIs (Claude, GPT) including function calling.
• Background building agentic systems and durable workflows.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code or Codex.
• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Familiarity with financial data and cloud deployments.

Responsibilities

• Understand client problems, prototype AI solutions, and ship to production.
• Design agent behavior and tool integrations for robust workflows.
• Evaluate AI systems and build test harnesses for correctness.
• Collaborate with core engineering to generalize client work into products.
• Work with LLMs, function calling, and structured outputs in production.
